| Not the S IV |
Back to The Big Four
Historically Samsung waits over a year to release the successor to their current Galaxy S phone. Now the next Galaxy phone may be right around the corner.
The Galaxy S IV, hot on the heels of the successful U.S. release of the
Galaxy S III, is rumored to be announced by Samsung at Mobile World Conference 2013. This event takes place in February and the phone will be released in March. An anonymous Samsung executive leaked this info to
The Korea Times.
The Rumors
- The S IV will have a 5-inch Samsung OLED screen
- It will have a higher resolution camera, such as the 13 megapixel one they wanted to use on the Note II
- It will be quad-core and 4G LTE
- It may or may not have Samsung's flexible screen technology
What It Should Have
There is one requirement for this phone if it is to come out so soon, Samsung's Exynos 5. They have already announced an Exynos 5 Dual, but if they are to out-do everyone else on the market they need a quad-core variant. The Dual has really impressive features, such as up to 2.5Ghz cores, DirectX 11 support, USB 3.0, and Ram support up to 800Mhz. Slap 4 cores on this thing and we have a go.
If not, and they just go with their current Exynos 4 Quad than what is the point? This may end up being a rushed device, so please, Samsung, at least have the absolute best hardware in it.

Update 9/18
Turns out Sammy noticed these rumors. They aren't happy about them being leaked. Today on Twitter Samsung's official account posted a quick Tweet denying the rumors. I still think the rumors are true and Samsung just doesn't want people to not buy the S III so they can wait for the S IV.
