BackThe lysine contingency - it's intended to prevent the spread of the animals is case they ever got off the island. Dr. Wu inserted a gene that makes a single faulty enzyme in protein metabolism. The animals can't manufacture the amino acid lysine. Unless they're continually supplied with lysine by us, they'll slip into a coma and die.
Well, the way they make shows is, they make one show. That show's called a pilot. Then they show that show to the people who make shows, and on the strength of that one show they decide if they're going to make more shows. Some pilots get picked and become television programs. Some don't, become nothing. She starred in one of the ones that became nothing.

BackYou see? It's curious. Ted did figure it out - time travel. And when we get back, we gonna tell everyone. How it's possible, how it's done, what the dangers are. But then why fifty years in the future when the spacecraft encounters a black hole does the computer call it an 'unknown entry event'? Why don't they know? If they don't know, that means we never told anyone. And if we never told anyone it means we never made it back. Hence we die down here. Just as a matter of deductive logic.

Nexus Rumor Roundup
Click me
Attention all Android fans:
It is that time of year again. The internet is buzzing with glorious glamorizations (you like that alliteration, don't you) of Nexus mockups and rumors. Each year this happens and we fans get butterflies in unspecified areas. Now, kiddies, don't think this is just another year of boring old rumors. This is the most exciting year yet because the month old rumors that Google will release an Nexus device from five different manufacturers looks like a possibility.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2
The Galaxy Nexus 2 has popped up multiple times on the web this week. It might have a 720p screen and an ARM-11 processor. That is pretty much all we know. Sounds boring to me.HTC Nexus 5
A.K.A. the Droid Incredible X. This rumor is the most interesting of all the rumors rumoring around the rumor mill. A 5-inch, 1080p 480 PPI screen, 12 megapixel camera, 2,500mAh battery-touting phone with HTC's build quality. I could get on board with this.LG Optimus Nexus
The LG Optimus G hasn't yet hit the shores of the USA, but a Nexus variant could be coming soon. The Optimus G has some impressive specs: a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor (quad core), 13 megapixel camera and some cool software features. The Nexus variation is rumored to sport a 4.7 inch True HD IPS Plus display that should have a PPI somewhere between the iPhone 5 and Nokia Lumia 920.Sony
Sony Xperia Nexus and Motorola Nexus
The last two manufacturers to hop on the Nexus rumor train are Sony and Motorola. Not much is known about these guys besides the fact that their names are associated with a Nexus rumor. We will wait and see. If they all come out, don't get the Moto one. That is the best advice you will receive all day.Sorry for the lack of pictures, there are no good mockups out.

Fantastic Banned iPhone 5 Promo
"The panoramic mode is completely revolutionary and unlike any free app you could have downloaded 3 years ago."Enjoy, and try not to rage too hard, Apple loyalists.
"Adjectives"
Why the Rumored Samsung Galaxy S IV Has to Have the Exynos 5 Processor
![]() |
| Not the S IV |
Historically Samsung waits over a year to release the successor to their current Galaxy S phone. Now the next Galaxy phone may be right around the corner.
The Rumors
- The S IV will have a 5-inch Samsung OLED screen
- It will have a higher resolution camera, such as the 13 megapixel one they wanted to use on the Note II
- It will be quad-core and 4G LTE
- It may or may not have Samsung's flexible screen technology
What It Should Have
If not, and they just go with their current Exynos 4 Quad than what is the point? This may end up being a rushed device, so please, Samsung, at least have the absolute best hardware in it.

Apple Announces the iPhone 5 and Embarrasses Itself Horribly
Today, September 12, 2011, Apple unveiled the iPhone 4 to much anticipation. It packs a dual-core A6 processor, a 4 inch screen, 4g LTE and a new and improved f/2.4 aperture camera with backside illumination. Its only 7.6 mm thick and it is lighter than the previous models. It may not be the thinnest phone out there, but I think the mobile phone industry has finally gotten over that obsession of thinness. These features are a nice addition to finally include in an iPhone, but let's break down each one to show you why even my low expectations for this device weren't met.
This sums up my argument quick nicely and humorously. The typical (typical, not all) Apple fan has no idea what they are talking about and the iPhone always looks so similar the average brainwashed consumer cannot even tell the difference. Yet they do not care. If Apple says it is faster, even if it is slower, they will believe it is faster. Truthiness at its best! On to the video:
/The Screen
After what seems like years of waiting, Apple finally upped their puny 3.5 inch screen to 4 inches. I know 4 inches doesn't seem like much, you'd think they would go to 4.3 to compete with Android and Windows Phone, but at least it is big enough to function in today's society. It is strange, however, that less than a year after Apple stated that 3.5 inches is the perfect size and no one will want a phone that is 4 inches they release one themselves. The screen is mildly impressive. At least the resolution is high, its not quite 720p, but it still has high pixel density. The biggest problem I have is that it took this long to release a damn iPhone with a 4 inch screen. Android and Windows Phone users have been enjoying larger screen sizes for over a year. Apple is way behind the times with this one./The Processor
/The Camera
"But perhaps the most amazing new feature in the iPhone 5 is called panorama."
"Oh, really? It is called panorama? What is this word? It is so foreign, new, shiny, and Apple! Wait, you said panorama? You mean the feature that has been in Android phones for years? A standard, crappy camera feature that no one really cares about. This is the best feature of the phone? I'm going home." - Said everyone at the conference who has half a brain.
Besides the amazingly old and useless (besides that one visit the Grand Canyon) panorama view, the camera also finally added backside illumination. This type of sensor increases low-light performance. It is also old news for every other high end phone on the market, though considering this iPhone "high end" is sort of a stretch. It has a f/2.4 aperture which is good for a camera phone these days, but not great. Samsung and Nokia have done better. The camera is nice, but the days of the iPhone having the best camera are long gone.
/The Rest
/Other Unveilings
Apple also announced a new iPod Touch that no one cares about, and a new iPod Nano. As my friend pointed out to me, something was off with the Nano. Stop me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't Apple sue everything that moves because their phones look mildly similar to the iPhone? Well what does this Nano remind you of? Someone should be sued, hard.

Is a Windows 8 Nook Imminent?
Do you even know what imminent means? You probably do.
The blogosphere (I was hip in 2008) claims that Windows and Barnes & Noble are all smitten with each other these days. Since Amazon's Kindle is a direct competitor to the Nook, B&N doesn't want to use Android as their base OS. Instead they might take Windows 8 and then go ahead and ruin that UX with their own custom crap over it.
![]() |
| Great vs. Crap |
If they do manage to customize Win8 then another downside surfaces: Windows licensing fees are much more expensive. Anrdoid is open source, it is technically free. With all the ridiculous patent lawsuits going around it doesn't always end up free, but at least it starts out at zero dollars.
In an Apple-free world (one can only dream), Barnes & Noble would grab the open source file of Android, probably Android 2.3 gingerbread again because they are run by people who hate you, and pay nothing. If they wanted to make their tablet based off Windows software they would pay somewhere between $60 and $100 per device.
Using Windows for a crappy tablet you are going to customize anyways makes no sense. Of course, neither does buying a Nook or a Kindle Fire over a Nexus 7 either.
Final note: this is a nice Windows 8 tablet.
